Hideki Kamiya, the renowned developer and director behind Resident Evil 2, recently shared his strong views on leaks and spoilers.
He expressed that individuals who take pleasure in spoiling surprises for others in games like Resident Evil Requiem truly “deserve a thousand deaths” and should “be cursed to never play games again.”
His mind races as spoilers for Resident Evil Requiem spread rapidly across the internet, despite Capcom’s assurance of taking “strict action” against the offenders.
The game developer stated that it suspects the “vast amount of gameplay footage” currently circulating online — including major spoilers and scenes from the game’s ending, confirmed as authentic by IGN — comes from copies acquired “illegally.”

Recently, in a post shared on Twitter/X and translated through automated tools (so some details might be slightly off), Kamiya shared his thoughts on how spoilers affected the launch of Resident Evil 2, a topic that also resonates with fans anticipating Resident Evil Requiem.
“I’m sure the final developments of [Resident Evil 2] were also exposed in a weekly photo magazine…” he wrote. “For your own selfish satisfaction, you trample on the feelings of the users who were looking forward to the game, as well as the feelings of the creators who put all their effort into making it.
“It’s a despicable act that destroys the happiness of everyone, and deserves a thousand deaths… May you be cursed to never be able to play games again…”
Capcom emphasized that uploading these videos violates copyright laws and is also considered disrespectful to other fans.
Nonetheless, the company appears to have restricted options for addressing the issue and indicated that its main course of action will be to remove the videos or issue official warnings.
This approach has been mentioned in relation to content like Resident Evil Requiem. Fortunately, the wait is almost over, with Resident Evil Requiem set to launch on February 27, just days away now.
